In practice, plan a 15–30 minute lead time; food affects it less than sildenafil, but a heavy, high-fat meal can still slow things down. Most people do well starting at 100 mg; if you’re on an α-blocker or tend to run low blood pressure, we’ll look at 50 mg. Don’t judge it by a single try give it 3–4 attempts under similar conditions. Alcohol noticeably blunts the response. Common effects are nasal stuffiness, flushing, and mild dizziness; a full glass of water, a cooler room, and small dose tweaks usually help. For headaches, we often solve it by stepping the dose down or switching molecules. Never combine with nitrates or riociguat; if you develop chest pain, call 911.
